Journal Overview
Panorama Frontier Review (PFR) publishes original research and analytical scholarship on emerging issues, interdisciplinary debates, and frontier developments. It is the broadest-scoped of Ridgeline's three journals: where AI & Future Society and the Journal of Engineering Systems & Applications are each anchored to a defined technical subject, PFR is the imprint's venue for scholarship that engages emerging developments and cross-disciplinary questions without requiring a fit inside a single established discipline.
This breadth is deliberate rather than incidental. A meaningful share of frontier and interdisciplinary research — work that sits between fields, or addresses a topic before it has an established specialist literature — struggles to find a natural home in narrowly scoped journals. PFR exists to give that work a peer-reviewed venue rather than leaving it unpublished or forced into an imperfect fit elsewhere.
Research Focus
The journal's own aims and scope, as published on its official site, describe three connected areas of interest: emerging issues that do not yet have an established body of literature, interdisciplinary debates that cross conventional subject boundaries, and frontier developments more broadly. Submissions are assessed on the strength of their argument and evidence rather than on which discipline they most resemble.
Who Should Publish Here
PFR is best suited to authors whose work engages an emerging or cross-disciplinary question and does not map cleanly onto a single specialist journal — including, but not limited to, topics adjacent to Ridgeline's technology and engineering focus. Authors whose manuscript is specifically about AI ethics and governance, or specifically about engineering systems and applications, should generally look first at AI & Future Society or the Journal of Engineering Systems & Applications, whose narrower scope may be a closer match; PFR's own aims and scope statement, linked below, is the authoritative reference for a submission-level decision.
Editorial Approach
PFR is guided by its own editorial board, which makes independent decisions on scope fit, peer-review outcomes and acceptance. The journal follows Panorama Scholarly Group's shared peer-review framework and uses continuous, rolling submission rather than fixed issue deadlines, so manuscripts are reviewed and published as they clear the process rather than waiting on a scheduled issue.
Open Access
PFR publishes open access under Creative Commons (CC BY) licensing. Articles are free to read, download and reuse from the day of publication, with no subscription or reader access fee.
DOI & Scholarly Record
Accepted articles receive a Crossref DOI, registered under Panorama Scholarly Group's prefix 10.63802, giving each a permanent, resolvable citation record. Corrections and, where warranted, retractions are handled under the group's shared publication-ethics framework — see Standards.
